In the early morning of August 12, 2019, former Guoan foreign aid Walter Martínez died of a heart attack in New York, USA. He was only 37 years old. Little Martínez joined Beijing Guoan for the first time in 2007. In the first two seasons, he left a deep impression on Guoan fans. In 2010, little Martínez returned to national security and left the team after the end of the 2011 season. Little Martínez played for 4 seasons in Guoan and scored 26 goals in 74 appearances.
On the 4th anniversary of the death of little Martínez, Ma Zijun posted many photos of the original employee farewell in the social media and wrote in memory: “Little Martin has been gone for four years, when I turned it out, I went to the work body to send him the photo.
